Here at St. Paul's we believe in John Wesley's teaching that knowledge and vital piety go hand in hand. Christian study is essential to Christian maturity. At St. Paul's we offer numerous opportunities for faith development through Christian study. We have a Sunday school program that meets weekly at 9:30 a.m. and end at 10:30 a.m. with classes for all ages from nursery to senior citizens.
In addition to Sunday morning classes, other studies are offered at different times of the year. During the Lenten and Advent seasons, several different classes are usually held. Other special classes may be be held for a short time period of 4 to 6 weeks at other times during the year when a need arises or the ministers or the membership request them. Everyone can find a place to learn at St. Paul's.
Grade Levels: Kindergarten through 4th grade
Elementary Sunday School classes almost always start in the sanctuary where the children go to the front of the church and have time with the minister or his designated representative. He talks to them and covers an important Bible message that usually pertains in some way to the sermon for that day. Afterwards, the children are divided into three groups, kindergarten, first and second grades and third and fourth grades. Each of the three groups is led by two "shepherds " who is responsible for making sure the children are signed in and taken to God's Town which is the upper story of the education wing. See the building map if you are confused At the end of the Sunday school hour, parents are expected to come to the chapel and sign their child or children out. The shepherds stays with one group throughout the year.
God's Town at a glance:
9:30 a.m. Children gather in front of the sanctuary with their shepherds to enjoy music & a children's sermon.
