St. Paul’s world-wide missions’ outreach is through our United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), our local Global Missions Board, and other Christian ministries like Heifer International.

Global Missions’ goal at St. Paul’s is to take the love of Jesus Christ beyond the city limits.  We are organized through a Global Missions Team that meets 4-6 times a year. We have a core team of dedicated and gifted volunteers who head up projects and we have many volunteers who help with fundraising and other tasks as needed.   Our group welcomes any new volunteers. 

 

In the past, Global Missions has been very active in the rural community of Fabens, TX where they repaired migrant workers' homes. They also helped remodel the UM church in Fabens so the church could be used for mission teams. In 2018 and 2019, St. Paul’s sponsored mission teams to help rebuild homes damaged by Hurricane Harvey. In January 2021, St. Paul’s Global Missions will again take a mission team to serve at UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) Sager-Brown in Baldwin, LA.  At UMCOR Sager-Brown, there are a variety of work projects from preparing relief supplies to volunteering in the community and working on the campus at Sager-Brown. It is not too late to add new missioners to join us on this trip.

 

Globally, Global Missions supports two United Methodist missionaries.  Rev. Martin Reeves is serving in Trujillo, Peru and Jennifer Henneman who is serving in the inner city of Columbus OH.  We also support the UM Seminary in Mulungushi, Africa. Please keep these ministries in your prayers.

 

Funds to support Global Missions are raised through quarterly TATOR TOPPER LUNCHEONS. Generous donations from the TATOR TOPPER LUNCHEONS help fund the mission trips as well as help with other mission giving. Coins in the Plate supports our Global Ministries missionaries as does the end of the month Birthday Cake Offering. Many make this offering the month of their birth or celebrating the birthday of a loved one. Donations to support Global Missions may be made at any time. Just indicate on your donation Global Missions.
